The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) recruits staff on the basis of fair and open competition and selection on merit. Vacancies are advertised both internally and externally, and applications are invited from suitably qualified people without regard to gender, disability, ethnicity, sexual-orientation, nationality, age or religion.

The FRC strives towards best practice, is aware of and tries to ensure a work-life balance amongst its employees, and strives toward best practice.

Equality of opportunity and diversity are issues which the FRC takes seriously, and is committed to the values of integrity, professionalism, impartiality, courtesy and helpfulness in its dealing with businesses, the profession and the way it treats its staff and candidates. The FRC values diversity and appreciates that this broader concept is about recognising, respecting and valuing the differences we all bring to work, including our gender, race, physical abilities, sexual-orientations, religion, age, and so on, and giving everyone a fair and equal chance to be successful.

The FRC appreciates its responsibilities to protect the health and safety of its employees and enhancing their potential through targeted training, professional and personal development.

The FRC regards it as a fundamental right for everyone to be able to work in an environment which is free of harassment and discrimination, and does not tolerate any form of unacceptable behaviour. It strives to adhere to these principles within its recruitment processes.
