The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) today welcomes Sir Win Bischoff as he takes up his post as the regulator’s new Chairman.

Gay Huey Evans takes up her role as Deputy Chairman at the same time.

Sir Win joins the FRC from Lloyds Banking Group where he served as Chairman from 2009. Sir Win has substantial experience of leading complex international boards in the UK, Asia and the US. His background spans a range of sectors, including banking and capital markets, finance and government, regulation and public policy.

Speaking about his new role at the FRC Sir Win Bischoff said:

“The FRC’s work is of vital importance to the UK economy. Companies and Boards already respond very thoughtfully to investor concerns on issues that the FRC oversees, including accounting policy, governance and pay. One of the things I will focus on is stewardship and governance to support the UK’s position as a global financial centre which is transparent and deals with investors fairly. I would like to pay tribute to my predecessor, Baroness Hogg, who led the FRC Board through its reform process and established the solid foundations on which the management team led by our CEO, Stephen Haddrill, and the constituent Committees expect to build in cementing the FRC's role in fostering investment.”
