FRC publishes Audit Quality Inspection Report on Mazars LLP

The FRC has today published an Audit Quality Inspection report for 2014/15 regarding Mazars LLP (PDF). The firm is inspected every three years.
The FRC’s Audit Quality Inspections Annual Report for 2014/15 and, separately, individual reports on BDO, Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC are due to be published by mid-June. The publication of those reports will conclude the FRC’s reporting on the 2014/15 cycle of audit inspections.

- The FRC is responsible for promoting high quality corporate governance and reporting to foster investment. We set the UK Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes as well as UK standards for accounting, auditing and actuarial work. We represent UK interests in international standard-setting. We also monitor and take action to promote the quality of corporate reporting and auditing. We operate independent disciplinary arrangements for accountants and actuaries; and oversee the regulatory activities of the accountancy and actuarial professional bodies.
- Inspection frequency and reporting
- The FRC inspects and reports on the Big Four firms annually. Following recommendations from the Competition and Markets Authority, inspections of BDO LLP and Grant Thornton UK LLP are conducted annually. Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP, Mazars LLP and Baker Tilly UK Audit LLP remain on their current three yearly inspection cycle.
