Revocation of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy as a qualifying body

Published: 17 January 2018
The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has, with the consent of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), revoked the recognition of CIPFA as an audit qualifying body under the provisions of the Companies Act 2006 with effect from 18 December 2017.
CIPFA was recognised in 2005 by the then Department of Trade and Industry as a qualifying body.
There are no CIPFA members who hold a CIPFA awarded audit qualification and therefore no one is directly affected by this revocation.
