The FRC set up its UK GAAP Technical Advisory Group (UK GAAP TAG) in 2013 to provide advice on accounting (and related company law) issues for all entities applying UK and Ireland accounting standards, including in relation to the development and maintenance of these standards. UK GAAP TAG also provides advice in relation to sector-specific SORPs. Bearing in mind the variety of entities applying UK and Ireland accounting standards, as a whole, UK GAAP TAG is comprised of members with a broad spread of sector knowledge and experience.
A number of changes in membership of the Group have recently taken place.
Jenny Carter, Acting Director, Accounting and Reporting Policy at the FRC, has taken over as Chair of the Group.
Following an open recruitment process the following new members have been appointed to UK GAAP TAG:
- Nick Bennett Partner, Audit & Assurance, Scott-Moncrieff
- Richard Bray Finance Regulatory & Taxes Team, Cancer Research UK
- Scott Jeffrey Partner, Johnston Carmichael
- Barbara McCormack Technical Manager, Advocacy & Voice, Chartered Accountants Ireland
In addition, Jonathan Shaw Director, National Assurance Services - Financial Reporting, Grant Thornton UK LLP, has been appointed to fill a vacancy arising in relation to one of the six largest accounting networks.
