Webinar Invite: Investment stewardship – What’s new in 2022?
News types: Codes and Standards Announcements
Published: 17 November 2021
The growing importance of ESG in investment management, stewardship and engagement has become a crucial element of investment strategy. The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is the custodian of the UK’s Stewardship Code which sets best-practice principles for asset managers, asset owners and investment service providers in this important area. Join us as we discuss what’s changed and what’s changing in investment stewardship as we look towards a new year.
In this session, the FRC's Head of Stewardship, Claudia Chapman, will present highlights from the FRC's upcoming report, Effective Stewardship Reporting: examples from 2021 and expectations for 2022, which will be published on 30 November. The report will focus on three areas we would like to see improved reporting in 2022.
- Market wide, systemic risk and well functioning markets
- Reporting in non-listed equity
- Reporting on outcomes
Following this, Lindsey Stewart, the FRC's Head of Stakeholder Engagement, will invite two signatories to the Code- Cindy Rose, Head of Responsible Capitalism at Majedie and Victoria Barron, Head of Sustainable Investment, BT Pension Scheme- to discuss what they are expecting from 2022. This event will be hosted on BrightTALK on 8th December at 1pm.
