The influential standard setting body, the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB), has appointed Josephine Jackson, Director of International Auditing and Assurance Standards at the Financial Reporting Council, as Vice-Chair on a two-year term.

Josephine, who has been an IAASB member since 2020, will take up the position from 1 January 2023, following her re-appointment as a member to facilitate the completion of ongoing projects.
She will continue to work with other international members of the IAASB to develop high quality internationally adopted auditing and assurance standards that underpin the UK standards issued by the FRC.

Mark Babington, Director of Regulatory Standards at the FRC, said:

I am extremely pleased to hear that Josephine Jackson has been re-appointed for a further three years an IAASB member and appointed as Vice-Chair of the Board. It is a great opportunity to build on the FRC’s strong relationship with the IAASB and help facilitate the convergence of national and international audit standards, enhance audit quality and strengthen public confidence in audit.

“I know the IAASB will continue to benefit greatly from Josephine’s extensive experience working in the public interest, having previously served on many project teams at the IAASB and chairing some of the IAASB’s important public interest projects such as going concern and public interest entities.”
