It is with deep sadness that I note the passing of Sir Win Bischoff, a hugely respected figure in the world of finance and a former chairman of the Financial Reporting Council. He held important roles throughout his career, including leadership roles at Schroders, Citigroup and Lloyds Banking Group, to name a few.
Sir Win dedicated much of his career to promoting good corporate governance. He recognised the importance of a healthy corporate culture, and his knowledge, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills were instrumental in driving positive change in the industry and here at the FRC.
During his tenure as FRC Chairman, Sir Win played a pivotal role in strengthening the FRC regulatory framework and enhancing its oversight of the audit profession. His commitment to upholding integrity and transparency in financial reporting earned him widespread admiration and respect.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Sir Win’s family, friends, and colleagues. His presence in UK corporate life will be deeply missed.
